Why us, for this
Offshore and heavy marine work is a served industry for us, and we are careful to say exactly that: we supply rope systems, rigging, mooring and deck lifting support, inspection and testing, and custom fabrication. We hold no third-party approval for offshore work and do not present ourselves as holding any — better you hear that from us at the start than discover it during an audit.
What we do bring is the capacity to make a one-off and stand behind it. A recovery net on an aluminium frame for a survey vessel. A netted steel structure for a handling problem. A boarding ladder to a freeboard nobody stocks for. Behind that sit four shops, a 500,000 lb test bed, and a technical team working on applied research and development — under non-disclosure when the work needs it.

What we take on

Mooring and towing assemblies in DynIce, Dyneema and steel wire, made to a length and a load and terminated by hand or in the press.
Slings, bridles, stays and one-off assemblies for deck handling, sized with splice loss accounted for and proof tested on our own bed.

The work that matters most in this sector is usually the work nobody can discuss. New and emerging technology development is sensitive by nature, and Hampidjan Canada is fully agreeable to working under non-disclosure and confidentiality terms — that is the company's own long-standing position, not a concession.
Behind it is a technical team engaged in applied research and commercial development, forty years of collaboration with industry, government and academia, and experience on the administrative side of a programme as well as the engineering: proposal writing, project implementation, project management and financial management.

None of these is a stock photograph, and none of them existed as a part number before it was asked for.

Netted aluminium frames for man-overboard recovery, tagged and racked in the shop. Each is built and handled as a finished piece of safety equipment rather than as a net.

Side ropes, steps and seizings set by hand, one at a time. Length and step count are built to the vessel rather than to a stock size.

The same work in service — an embarkation ladder made off to the rail with the fenders out. Boarding gear is fitted on the vessel, not shipped and hoped for.

A framed structure netted and laced on the floor, standing among the netting it was built from. Steel, rope and netting are all in this building, which is what makes a one-off possible on a schedule.

Four shops
A one-off usually needs more than one trade. Because all four shops are ours, a job that needs the welder, the loft and the bed is moved between our own buildings instead of being split across three subcontractors and three schedules.
