Accessibility
This site should work for you whatever you are using to read it — a phone in a wheelhouse, a screen reader, a keyboard and no mouse. Where it does not, we want to hear about it, and there is always a person you can call instead.

What we aim for
We build this site to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test against that standard as we build rather than auditing at the end, and accessibility checks run automatically alongside the rest of the test suite.
We are not claiming the site is perfect. A site this size has corners nobody has yet read with a screen reader, and we would rather say so than claim a conformance we have not proved.
What is built in
Across the site:
- Every page has a proper heading structure and named landmarks, so a screen reader can skip to what matters
- Everything you can click, you can reach and operate from the keyboard, and the focused element is always visibly marked
- Text meets or exceeds AA contrast, including on the dark sections
- Controls are sized and spaced to be hit on a phone, with gloves on
- Animation respects your system's reduced-motion setting
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology rather than described pointlessly
Where we know there is work to do
Product specification tables are wide, and a wide table is hard work on a small screen however carefully it is built. They scroll horizontally inside their own frame and announce that they do, but we would like a better answer than that.
PDF catalogues are supplier documents and are not fully accessible. If you need something from one and cannot get at it, call a branch and we will read it to you or send the figures another way.

If something on this site stops you doing what you came to do, email info@hampidjan.ca and say what page you were on and what happened. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will get you what you needed another way.
You never have to use this website to do business with us. Every branch has a phone number and a person on the end of it, and a quote can be taken entirely over the phone.
